Split Pea Soup
A homestyle creamy mix of split peas, red bell peppers, garlic, potatoes and flavorful herbs, producing a flavorful and hearty meal.

Ingredients
- 1 meal starter pouch
- 6 cups cold water
- 1 large potato, diced
Directions
- In a medium pan, add pouch contents and cold water. Stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil and simmer in a covered pan on low heat for 60 minutes or until tender.
- After 40 minutes simmering, add the diced potatoes and stir, adding more water if necessary.
Pretty tasty soup with no modifications imo. I made it on my pressure cooker and decided to go with 5 cups of water. I think for me it still came out a bit watery, but the flavor wasn’t washed out. I’d assume if made on the stove that much would work great since you lose some moisture.

So the package said 4 cups of water. Then I got an email that said 7 cups of water, which is what I used and it was WAY too watery for split pea soup. I would guess I would like it better with about 5 cups. You can always thin it if it is too thick, but it isn’t possible to remove water unless you cook it forever to let it boil off.
