Ever since I was a kid, one of my favorite things to do has been traveling by plane. I’ve always been fascinated with the speed at which you can reach your destination and all the places you can go. When I was younger, in my pre plant-based days, a trip to the airport meant a chance to “treat” myself to some greasy fast food that I knew wasn’t good for me, but that I ate and enjoyed anyway. After I went plant-based, I knew that something about my pre-flight routine had to change.
Now when I fly, I often bring my food with me. I purchased a Packit cooler bag which is TSA approved and has built in gel packs, so my food will stay cool and fresh during my trip. Some of my favorite things to bring are burritos, sandwiches, veggie burgers, and leftovers like pasta. I also make sure to bring cut up fruits and veggies for easy snacks. As long as you don’t bring any liquids, you will be able to breeze right through security and know that you can enjoy your flight and have delicious, healthy food on hand to help your trip get off to a great start!
