The whole-food, plant-based (WFPB) diet or lifestyle is what we recommend as the optimal diet for human health.
What exactly is the WFPB diet?
Why eat a whole-food, plant-based diet? Based on many years of research and overwhelming evidence, Dr. T. Colin Campbell reports in his book Whole — Rethinking the Science of Nutrition, “People who adopt a WFPB diet find that most of their health problems were caused or significantly worsened by their old diets and resolve naturally and quickly once the body starts getting the proper fuel.”
Aside from the many benefits for personal health, there are other compelling reasons for adopting and promoting a WFPB diet: to reduce the number of animals subjected to pain and suffering due to factory farming practices and conditions, and to reduce animal agriculture’s large role in degrading the environment through air pollution, water pollution, and deforestation.
