 Hot Fudge Sauce

Prep time    5-10 minutes

Cook time   3 minutes

Yield               3-4 servings

🌱 Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (I prefer dark chocolate)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 cups nondairy milk, divided
  • 5 tablespoons maple syrup
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

    👩‍🍳 Directions

    1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the cocoa, cornstarch and 1/2 cup of the milk until blended.
    2. Add the remaining 1 cup milk and the maple syrup to the saucepan and continue to whisk until thoroughly combined.
    3. Cook the mixture over medium heat, whisking constantly, for 2-3 minutes, or until it becomes bubbly and forms a thick sauce.
    4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the vanilla and sea salt.
    5. Serve warm over your favorite dessert.

          Banana 'Nice' Cream

          Prep time    10 minutes

          Cook time   0 minutes

          Yield               2-3 servings

          🌱 Ingredients

          • 2 medium ripe bananas, peeled, sliced and frozen (the riper the banana, the sweeter the ice cream!)
          • 2-4 tablespoons unsweetened nondairy milk
          • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

            👩‍🍳 Directions

            1. Place the frozen banana slices, milk, and vanilla extract into a high speed blender or food processor and blend until very smooth and creamy.  You may need to stop and push down the sides every so often.  It should have the consistency of soft serve ice cream.
            2. You can also place the nice cream in the freezer for 1-2 hours if you prefer a firmer consistency.
            3. Leftovers will store in an airtight glass container in the freezer. Allow it to thaw for 20-30 minutes before serving.
